CFP: Putting Your Interests Frist

by | Oct 8, 2020 | Certified Financial Planners

Did you know that both Ryan and Gabe are Certified Financial Planners?  What many people don’t know is what exactly that means for you, the customer.

Most people think all financial planners are “certified,” but this isn’t true. Just about anyone can use the title “financial planner.” Only those who have fulfilled CFP Board’s rigorous requirements can call themselves a CFP® professional. CFP® professionals are held to strict ethical standards. This certification means they must always act in the best interest of their client – not what is financially best for planner, or anyone else.

Here’s an official quote from the CFP website: “CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct requires CFP® professionals to uphold the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness and confidentiality. They make a commitment to put their clients’ interests first at all times when providing financial advice.”

Here are some stats:

– Only about 20% of financial planners are CFP®  Professionals

– There are only 204 CFP® Professionals in Montana

“Everyone needs someone they can trust right now.  We always always always act in the best interest of our clients. We have a choice of how we do business and we both choose to be accountable to the highest ethical standards and always do what’s best for our clients.” – Gabe & Ryan
